Harlow Civic Dinner showcases best of business and community in glittering night of awards

Entertainment / Sun 17th May 2026 at 01:23pm

A WHOLE host of business and community organisations gathered for the Harlow Civic Dinner and Community Awards on Friday night.

This was the first time both events had been held together and judging by the feel-good reaction around the room it was a fantastic success.

With the events being compered by the Chair of Harlow Council, Cllr Andrew Johnson and the leader of Harlow Council, Cllr Dan Swords, there was no doubt a buzz following their landslide victory at the local elections last week.

All profits for the event, went to the chairs’ chosen charities: Mike’s Den and the Butterfly Effect Wellbeing.

Among the guests were: the High Sheriff of Essex, Susannah Dutton and Deputy Lord-Lieutenant, Jackie Sully.

It was great to see all these great community organisations and businesses in the same room. There was a great energy and positive vibe and all seemed to be part of the Building Harlow’s Future culture.

We are sure everyone would like to thank Emma Crouch and her team at Harlow Council for organising the event and Harlow Rugby Club for hosting it in their great venue.
