EXCEPTIONAL teachers, support staff and education professionals from across the county have been honoured at the 12th annual Essex Teaching Awards.
The awards ceremony celebrated the dedication and achievements of staff working in primary, secondary, special and early years settings throughout Essex.

Hundreds of nominations were submitted across the 17 categories this year. This highlights the breadth of talent and commitment within the county’s education sector.
Categories included Early Years Team of the Year, Inclusive Practice Award and Teacher of the Year in a Special School. A number of Lifetime Achievement Awards were also presented in recognition of long-standing contributions to education.
Councillor Sam Journet, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Education, SEND and Skills, praised the winners and nominees for their commitment.
He said: “The Essex Teaching Awards recognise excellence in education, celebrating individuals who make an exceptional impact on children and young people across Essex.
“Each nomination reflects the vital contribution teachers and educators make in shaping lives through education. Well done to all of the nominees and winners.”
The awards were made possible with the support of several partner organisations. This year’s sponsors included the University of Essex, Daisy Education, MITIE, Able Canopies and LT Support Ltd.
