A NUMBER of roads outside Harlow have been shut due to flooding.
Emergency services were called to the A1184 Harlow Road between Harlow and Sawbridgeworth at around 5am this morning (Monday, December 16) due to flooding.
The road is currently closed in both directions with no access to drivers between Essex and Hertfordshire and there is currently no indication as to when the road will reopen.
The Hertfordshire County Council traffic twitter feed reported this morning that road was shut due to the police led incident reports Essex Live.
The closure is now affecting traffic on Eastwick Road, High Wych Road and Fifth Avenue as drivers look for a diversion. There are significant delays in the area.
Drivers are being advised to find an alternative route if possible and emergency services remain at the scene.
The severity of the flooding is currently unknown.
A local councillor has been discussing the matter on social media describing the flooding issue as “more than a maintenance issue but one of capacity. This has been happening regularly for the past 20 years.”
