A HOUSEBUILDER which hit the headlines over the conditions of its new housing in Harlow is hopeful that a large part of its development will be scaffolding free in 2020.

Last year, Harlow MP took Persimmon homes to task over the quality of the new houses.

Since then, it appeared that a large block of housing was undergoing some form of work that necessitated a large amount of scaffolding surrounding the development.

YH asked Persimmon Homes whether they had a completion date for the development.

A spokesman from Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “The work to the gateway block of apartments at the site frontage on Gilden Way is progressing and we expect the scaffolding to be removed during February 2020.

“These apartments are newly constructed and are yet to be occupied.

“We anticipate works on the entire block to be finished during the Spring of 2020.”
