Communities / Sun 26th Jan 2020 at 11:21am

ON Thursday, 23rd January, Accuro (Care Services) opened it’s doors to the community for a Volunteer Open Day, celebrating existing and recruiting new volunteers.

The charity, which operates across West Essex, provides clubs and services for Children and Adults ages 8 and up with disabilities.

Volunteer Coordinator at Accuro, Helen Kenny said, “Volunteers are at the heart of what do at Accuro and we’re keen to give back to those giving their time to charity by providing opportunities for personal development.”

Members of the community arrived on the day and were given information on ways that they could get involved with the charity.

Helen said: “Volunteering not only benefits our charity in a huge way, it can also open doors for those looking for work experience or those just looking to learn new skills or meet new people. We try to provide as wide a range of Volunteering opportunities as we can, be it within one of our kids clubs, assisting at a fundraising event or office admin. We like to give back to those giving their time to us.”

The charity are in the process of recruiting volunteers and are encouraging those with a few spare hours to get in touch.

She added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that attended. Volunteers are incredibly valuable to us here at Accuro. It’s fantastic also to know that members of our local community are keen to get involved and make a real difference in the lives of people with a disability.”
