FOUR projects have been selected for Harlow SOUP’s next community crowdfunding event on Thursday 27th February at Pemberley Academy, Harlow
Four community projects have been selected for the February SOUP:
Community Embrace; funding for an Around the World Festival & Community Fun Day, as well as quarterly Let’s Meet Up Forums
Epping Forest and Harlow Community Transport; funding to continue to provide community transport in Harlow
Singing for Memories and Activity; funding for music and creative groups used to support those with dementia at PAH
International Women’s Day; funding for a free exhibition, talks and activities at Eastgate Gallery to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March.
The event will see the four projects pitch their idea in four minutes to attendees, as well as answer four questions from the audience who will then vote for their favourite project. The event is “pay what you feel” entry, and all of the money raised on the door is awarded to a project at the end of the night.
Doors will open from 6.30pm on Thursday 27th February and will feature a live performance from ASL, two homemade soups, bread, cakes, tea/coffee and more.
Previous winners Harlow Men’s Shed, who were awarded £600.60 towards their project, will be presenting to attendees about how they have spent SOUP funds.
This Harlow SOUP event will also be holding a collection for Harlow Foodbank.
Previous winners of Harlow SOUP have included Aspire Support Learn (ASL), the Butterfly Volunteers, Pact for Autism and Harlow Stroke Support Group who all received hundreds of pounds towards their respective projects.
