’30 make £30k’ launches as businesses fundraise for Hospice’s 30th Birthday
IN 2020, St Clare Hospice is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the founding of the West Essex and East Herts charity, which supported their first patient in 1990.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Hospice is launching their ’30 make £30k’ birthday challenge and are inviting local businesses to take part. The challenge is for 30 businesses to fundraise throughout the whole of 2020 with the aim of raising at least £1,000 each.
The challenge officially launched on Thursday 30th January and there are already 22 local businesses signed up for the challenge.
Charlotte Durham, Corporate Fundraising Officer at St Clare Hospice, is running the campaign and said: “St Clare has been supporting local people for three decades now, and our 30th birthday is definitely a cause for celebration. It has been thanks to the support of dozens of local businesses over the years that we have been able to support more than 15,000 local families facing one of life’s most difficult journeys during that time. Our ’30 make £30k’ campaign is about ensuring we will also be there in the future, and what better way to celebrate 30 years of care, compassion, growth and teamwork, than by joining together and raising vital funds to help us continue to care.”
One of the first businesses to sign up to the challenge was Simply Washrooms and their Director, Samantha Stocks, commented: “2020 is a big year for St Clare and we are delighted to be supporting our local hospice through the ’30 make £30k’ challenge. We value the relationship we have with St Clare and, as a local company, we know the difference that the charity makes to local people living with a life-limiting illness. We’re really excited to take on this year-long fundraising challenge and to see what innovative ideas our staff come up with to smash our £1,000 target – we know we can raise much more than that!”
