ESSEX County Council (ECC) has confirmed that the Essex resident with Coronavirus had the illness diagnosed at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) in Harlow at the weekend.

He has since been transferred to another hospital for treatment.

YH understands that those with close contacts with the patient have been contacted by health officials.

The person infected with the virus had no relevant travel history and is believed to have contracted the illness from another unknown person.

On Friday, YH asked PAH if they had installed a Coronavirus Pod in the grounds of the hospital but they directed all enquiries to the NHS Regional Team. They in turn told us that all Coronavirus enquiries were being dealt with by the Department of Health and Social Care.
