YH has been contacted by a number of readers questioning why certain businesses still seem to be operating. We will be looking into as many as we can.

First off, construction work. A number of readers have asked why construction work appears to be continuing in Newhall off Old London Road.

So YH went down to the site, where work appeared to be continuing.

We spoke to a representative of Countryside Properties who told us that the work was “winding down”.

They said: “It would not be safe to leave a wall half finished or fences not secured but work is being wound down and finished.”

They did add that they had recurved a number of enquiries from Harlow residents.

Many believe there has been mixed messages from the government on construction work.
