Covid-19: Infection rate falls again but by 9 cases only

Health / Thu 4th Feb 2021 at 06:13pm

THERE could be mixed messages in the Covid-19 report for today.

The infection rate has dropped by 38.9% on seven days previously.

The total number of cases for January 30th is 284. That is a drop of just 9 from January 29th.

The figure for January 30th is 326.2 per 100,000.

This is the 22nd day in a row we have seen a fall.

Harlow is now ranked 56th out of 315 local authorities.

That is our lowest position since December 12th.

It has slipped to the second page of the tables.

What should be seen as reassuring for Harlow residents is how relatively consistent the fall is. However today’s fall may be a sign that we must be vigilant.

Today it is decline of 9.

In the previous seven days, the number of cases in Harlow has declined by: 9, 30, 30, 17, 33, 37, 26, and 55.

We think everyone could put up with this boring consistency.

That is a fall of 1011 cases since the “peak” on January 9th

This is the lowest rate since December 18th.

It is the second highest in Essex however, as you can see below, many other areas in Essex and on our border seem to have made much faster progress in the decline of their infection rates.

Remember this refers to January 30th but published on February 4th.

If this is a “constant” decline then we could be under 100 by the middle of February.

YH understands that there are 90 Covid in-patients, including 8 on ventilators.

There are 139 outstanding test results.

There are now 10 Covid wards at PAH. Lister, Locke, Penn, Harold, Kingsmoor, Charnley, John Snow, Henry Moore and ITU.
