Covid-19: Harlow falls to 60th in infection table (but decrease is again small)
News / Fri 5th Feb 2021 at 07:25pm

THOSE who have followed our daily reports will have seen a definite pattens of decline in infections from the statistics published on January 14th through to February 3rd.
The biggest daily drop was January 16th of 127 cases. The smallest was 17 on Feb 1st.
Most drops were in the 20’s, 30’s and up to 55.
However, the last two days have seen declines of “just” 9 and 11.
Therefore? Therefore, there is a possibility that the journey from 273 cases to zero in Harlow, may take longer that we think and, whose to say, unless people are vigilant, then may start to go up again.
Todays statistics
Harlow has fallen to 60th in the league table. That is its lowest position since late November. That is quite a milestone.
The total number of cases is 273. A decrease of 11 on yesterday.
That is a rate of 313.6 cases per 100,000. The lowest since December 16th.
A drop of 38.0%.
This is the 23rd day in a row we have seen a fall.
What should be seen as reassuring for Harlow residents is how relatively consistent the fall is. However today’s fall may be a sign that we must be vigilant.
In the previous seven days, the number of cases in Harlow has declined by: 11, 9, 30, 30, 17, 33, 37, 26, and 55.
We think everyone could put up with this boring consistency.
That is a fall of 1020 cases since the “peak” on January 9th
This is the lowest rate since December 18th.
It is the second highest in Essex however, as you can see below, many other areas in Essex and on our border seem to have made much faster progress in the decline of their infection rates.
Remember this refers to January 31st but published on February 5th.
