Harlow Council still in it to win it with regeneration bid

EARLIER this week, we published a letter from Nicholas Taylor of the Harlow Alliance Party where he criticised Harlow Council for failing to win another regeneration bid.
We have now been issued with a statement from John Keddie, Chair of Harlow Growth Board who has stated that no decision has been made yet on town deal bid
Mr Keddie said: ““Harlow Growth Board would like to correct the letter published on 10 March 2021 which claims that Harlow has failed in its Towns Fund bid.
“As the public, private and voluntary partnership which put forward Harlow’s bid we would like to make it clear that a decision by government on Harlow’s bid has yet to be made.
“Harlow is one of 101 areas which has been invited by government to submit a bid for up to £25m.
“So far 52 deals have been confirmed and announced. Seven areas were part of the first deals announced back in October and a further 45 deals were announced last week by the Chancellor.
“The board hopes to hear the outcome of the government’s decision on the Harlow bid shortly.”
