HARLOW organisation Changing Lives has won a highly respected National Diversity Award.

The National Diversity Awards were held in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.

Changing Lives won the Community Organisation Award for Multi-Strand.

Changing Lives Community Services is an early intervention and prevention project aimed at raising children’s awareness about the dangers of gangs and to prevent children getting involved in criminal activity.

Their objective is to create social, sporting and work experiences that will install confidence and motivation for children, providing them with opportunities and pathways towards a positive future.

The organisers said: “With the rise of anti-social behaviour, this outstanding project is working tirelessly to tackle these issues.

“Just recently, Changing Lives opened their new Community Hub supporting the most vulnerable families in Harlow.

“1210 young people have attended at least one session at the hub in the last eight months of opening, 120 young people have attended wellbeing sessions, and 1000 young people have been supported through Holidays Clubs.

“This outstanding organisation is providing children with unprecedented opportunities.Fantastic Work! Congratulations!

Many congratulations for the fantastic work you do. It's organisations like Changing Lives that do indeed, change lives and communities. Government, County and local levels need to take note an massively invest in such projects in all localities. Harlow especially, such organisations can spend more time struggling to find suitable buildings and raising funds than working with children and communities. That's no sense and fundamentally flawed. Brilliant achievement guys, well done.
