Harlow Junction 7A – Weekend road closure to enable surfacing works
The B183 Gilden Way / Sheering Road in Harlow will be closed to traffic this weekend to allow for surfacing works between the Chuchgate Street Roundabout and Lower Sheering Road.
Part of the ongoing M11 Junction 7a scheme, the works have now reached an important milestone with the surfacing and tie-in of the new stretch of road along Sheering Road.
The weekend closure will be in force between 8pm on Friday 25th March and 5am on Monday 28th March to enable the surfacing works to take place. Due to the nature of the work, it can only be carried at this time when there is less traffic on the network.
During this closure there will be limited vehicular access for residents as the carriageway will be fully closed, with arrangements in place to support local businesses.
A complimentary shuttle bus service (route 59) will be available from Lower Sheering Road to Hatfield Heath from Saturday morning to Sunday evening.

Kind Regards,
No consideration for local residents. Hardly any communication letters of dates the roads will be closed, let's make the lives of the local residents hell its like living in lock down again, next excuse will be couldn't do the work due to adverse weather conditions.
The traffic the last two week ends has been horrendous. And with all building about to go a head it is only going to get worse, much worse. And the pollution being stuck in all that traffic, so horrible.
I literally found out when I was on my way to work yesterday morning. No communication from them at all to the affected residents! Appalling.
I’m not sure how wide the information circle stretched. I DID receive a letter addressed to “Dear Neighbour” which I thought a strange salutation as none of my neighbours had written it. To choose a weekend when quite a lot of people will be visiting their families as it’s Mothers Day on Sunday was also strange. I do hope Gibberds Garden, Mayfield Farm Bakery and the other units are getting suitably recompensed by Essex Highways for loss of business this weekend I will be looking for the dedicated cycle lane to enable cyclists to safely commute as I know how important active sustainable travel is to Harlow Council.
Do the people that sort these things out have any idea what so ever. Tried to go out this weekend. Totally grid locked with both M11 and Sheering being closed at the same time. No way through as Sawbridgeworth and A414 total stand still. A 15 minute journey from Church Langley to Hallingbury scuppered. Gave up and came home.
