HARLOW Running and Tri Club competed in the Scott’s Travel Mid Week League Mob Match last week over a 10k course at Welwyn Garden City. The Mob Match is where all three divisions come together to run a race and afterwards the team and individual awards are presented.

HRTC were awarded the Division 3 runners up trophy and the Men’s Division 3 Vet Winners Trophy, individually Rob Lowe was awarded the Vet 50 trophy, Lee Webber was 3rd Vet 40 and Kerry Mavris 3rd Female Vet 40.

On the night Lucy Barnes was 1st Female finisher out of 159 finishers in an excellent 37min 56min, Terri Willy was 18th in 44.19 and Fieke Blackwell 28th in 46.03. Lucy was unfortunate not to win the Ladies individual award but she missed one race (all four races need to be completed to win an individual award). In the Men’s race Pas Blackwell finished in 16th place out of 292 finishers in a superb 35.52, Rob Lowe was 21st and 2nd Vet 50 in 37.00, Martin Westley 53rd in 39.54 and John Tennant was 211th and 2nd Vet 70 in 51.43.

Meanwhile, on Sunday morning at the Mitre 10k race at Bishop’s Stortford Chris Arnell finished in 22nd place out of 101 finishers in 47.38, Vicky Steadman was 23rd and 3rd Female in 47.39 and Kate Porter 78th in 60.31.

Martyn Coulter was victorious in the Run the Estuary 15 Mile race, finishing 1st out of 16 finishers in a PB time of 1hr 46min 08sec.

Harlow triathletes were in action at the weekend at two events.
At the Cotswold Classic Half Ironman Triathlon (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike 13.1 mile run) Ben Usher finished in 142nd place out of 627 finishers in 5hrs 10min 24sec, a PB by 12min, Holly Nairn was 220th in 5.27.28, Iain Bulloch 251st in 5.31.54, Chris Donnelly 393rd in 5.58.30, a PB by 24min, Kerry Mavris 400th in 5.59.57, a PB 7min, and Alison Wilkinson 506th in 6.31.35. Louise Kedge and Andy Foster combined, Louise did the swim and bike ride and Andy the run, to finish in 147th place in 5.12.06.       

At the Maldon Standard Distance Triathlon (Swim 1500m, Bike 40km, Run 10km) Lucy Barnes finished in 11th place out of 85 finishers and 1st Female in 2.21.39 and Terri Wiley was 33rd and 3rd Female in 2.36.02.

On Saturday at the 50km Peak District Challenge Laura Prime finished in 6th place in 6.39.02.

Chris Mella finished the Harlow parkrun in 12th place out of 153 finishers in a PB time of 22.14 and Jermaine Shane the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey in 15th place out of 181 finishers in a PB time of 20.32.
