INNOVATION Multisport members took on not only the iconic 26.2 London Marathon but also virtually too. They also had 25 members volunteering and helping out along the route between mile 18/19 giving out encouragement, high fives and hugs. Andrew Kitson ran an amazing time of 3:41:13 and even stopped for a chat with his wife Karen.

Abdalla Saad-Abdalla raised money for Macmillan Cancer charity and ran a great time of 6:20:11 and even managed a jump for joy for our marshalls.

James Keys-Kidd had won a place in the club draw and ran it with his wife Samantha, who was raising money for Whizz Kidz they finished in 6:55:50.
Run Leader Dave Nicholas took part this year from his deffered 2020 place, raising money for the Ray of Sunshine charity, he really appreciated the hugs from club members who were volunteering along the route. He finished in 7:31:21.

Jennie Gould and sister in law Kirsty Spooner had trained so hard together but unfortunately didn’t finish together, raising money for Cardiomyopathy UK, Kirsty’s debut at marathon distance was 7:38:26. Jennie went on to say she was so overwhelmed by all the different charities and the runners are all inspirational, and although she didn’t finish, she had experienced the atmosphere, the marshalls and crowds and they were all fantastic. Jennie definitely doesn’t regret my first attempt. Her club members have been so supportive and Jennie has already said she will be back at Tuesday interval sessions to build up her stamina.

Meanwhile for The Virtual London Marathon, where you can run the distance wherever you choose, Alan Shead decided to go to Dorney Lake to complete his, aiming for under 5hrs, he did just that 4:59:13.
