Athletics / Sun 14th Apr 2024 at 10:24am
THERE is just a week to go before the 44th running of the London Marathon.
We have been keeping up with a number of Harlow runners. We have asked them how training has been getting on?
Alan Honan: Places2Be

Alan is training hard. His last big run was around 18-20 miles. Now he has just got smaller runs before Sundays marathon.
He is excited and confident he will beat his personal best

Dan Boyce: Helen Rollason Charity

I was really stepping up the long runs but started to feel some pain around my left knee in early March. It hindered me and restricted how long I could run.
It was inflammation of the tendon around my knee. It was really holding me back and I was feeling the pain at around 6 / 7 mile so I had a steroid injection two weeks ago.
This has really helped and I ran 18 miles on Saturday. I am in a much better place now after this and feeling confident.
Fund raising for my charity Helen Rollason is going well and I am at 70% of my £2000 target; currently at £1416.

We have smashed our original target of £2000 so I have upped the target to £2500 which I’m hoping to achieve before the big day!!
I’m super looking forward to race day next week and I can’t wait to put all my hard work and training into action!
I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported and donated to such a wonderful cause! The donations go such a long way.
Thank you also for your support in sharing my charity page and journey so far.
