By-Election: Actress who starred in Coronation Street and Doctor Who standing for Labour in Little Parndon

HARLOW resident Linda Clark is an accomplished actress of stage and screen. But it look like she is attempting to swop the stage for the theatre that can be local democracy.

Linda is the Labour candidate for Little Parndon in the by-election that is due to take place on Thursday October 10th.

We caught up with Linda in The Hornbeams in order to find out a little bit more as to why she is standing.

@ Adam - has there been a more disastrous start for any government in history? The Prime Minister and his senior Ministers accepting hundreds of thousand of pounds in cash and gifts whilst taking away heating money from the elderly. Let's hope people never forget this.

@DavidP no there has not especially when they campaigned and where so hard on the previous government and painted themselves as whiter than white. That's before the frankly evil cutting of WFA and messing loads of kids education up for ideological grounds which will raise no extra revenue but actively cost more money. They are nothing but over grown student radicals who have never hit the real world.

David P & Adam. Most disastrous start? You clearly both have short memories. You have obviously forgotten about the disatrous austerity cuts to public services imposed by the Tory Government soon after taking power in 2010 - the affects of which still harm our society today. And what about Liz Truss? She was only in power for 45 days and she wrecked the economy causing a huge jump in mortgage payments and negatively affecting living standards for milions of people! You need to remove those Tory-tinted spectacles of yours!
