Old Harlow’s Ralphie set to represent his country at Karting

News / Wed 23rd Oct 2024 at 02:37pm

A HARLOW schoolboy is set to represent his country in Karting at a two nation tournament at the end of the month.

Nine-year-old Ralphie Hendy attends Churchgate Primary in Old Harlow.

We asked his mother, Sophie, to describe his Karting journey.

Sophie said: “He started racing at six-years- old and has been up and down the country (including Scotland and Ireland for championships).

Ralphie has been chasing points for the 23/24 season and he has had success as he has finished 7th in the points out of 50 drivers.

Finishing so high in the table qualified him to race in South Africa. So we are travelling at the end of October for United Kingdom v South Africa.

“His dad who runs a local waste company in Harlow and so Sharp Waste Management is sponsoring him on this amazing opportunity”

We look forward to hearing from them when they return.
