LIVEWIRE Theatre are heading to the Stow for a brand new project with the The Safer Harlow Partnership. With funding from Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner; Livewire will be providing a safe creative space for young people in the Stow area.

As part of an exciting new initiative Livewire will provide free theatre workshops for up to 6 months in the new Community Safety Hub at The Stow; targeting children and young people living in The Stow area and/or attending Burnt Mill and Mark Hall schools. In these sessions young People attending will be able to take part in drama games and activities as well as write lyrics and spoken word pieces and devise original music to underscore their words.
Livewire Creative Director Sam Ashford said “I am delighted to be adding yet another point of quality contact out there in our community. We relish the chance to do new, unusual and ground breaking projects and we can’t wait to get started in the Community Safety Hub! We have three young people who have come through Livewire, trained at University and are now wonderfully talented and inspirational leaders in their own right who will be running these exciting and innovative sessions”.
Sessions will begin on Tuesday 12th November 6 – 8pm with an “Open Session” and will continue every week until the summer. These workshops are free to join and Livewire have an open door policy. So, if you are in secondary school or, know a young person who would benefit from working with Livewire then please just turn up! There will be a simple sign up sheet before entrance is permitted and the Community Safety Hub can be found in The Stow High Street.
Rory Davies, Livewire Trustee and Playhouse Artistic Director had this to say “I can’t think of a better organisation than Livewire to deliver this work. They are from Harlow, grew up in Harlow, understand HArlow and have genuine provide in our town. They are highly skilled and are brilliant at forging positive, lasting and creative relationships with Young People. By providing a consistent, supportive, and engaging environment, Livewire workshops offer young people positive alternatives to the negative influences of County Lines, Serious Violence, and Hate Crime. This holistic approach helps them build a brighter future and contributes to a safer community in Harlow.
I would urge anyone in the area who is curious to pop down to next weeks open session to see what its all about!”
