Harlow Open 2025: Artists invited to submit their work

WE are excited to announce the call out to artists for the Harlow Open 2025.
The Harlow Open Exhibition 2025 at the Gibberd Gallery can be entered by any artist who was born, studied, currently lives or is working in Harlow, Uttlesford, East Herts, Epping and Broxbourne districts. Artworks submitted cannot have exhibited at previous Harlow Opens.

Artists can submit up to 3 works created in the last 3 years for selection by our selection committee with judges Juliet Bowmaker, Alexis Harding and Weng-io Wong. All works will be judged blind. The selection committee will make the final decision, and no feedback can be given. Due to the judging process, we cannot guarantee that all artists will be successful with their submission.
The judges will also be selecting prizes for various categorise which will be announced at the Private View. These include but are not limited to the Harlow Open 2025 Winner and Sue McDonald Prize for Painting.
In the spirit of an open exhibition, we welcome entries from professional artists and people who create artworks for enjoyment. Drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, craft, and textiles will all be considered. All artworks selected must be for sale (including a commission at 30%).
The Open is an exhibition that welcomes visitors of all ages. Please do not include themes, imagery, or content that could be deemed offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate for a diverse and inclusive community setting. Works must also be possible to be displayed safely.
Fees: The entry fee is £6 per piece, £5 per piece if the complete form and all labels are typed.
Typed forms save admin time and minimise catalogue errors. The fee is non-refundable even if work/s are not selected. All funds go towards the community work of the Harlow Art Trust.
Submissions: Friday 10 January – Saturday 11 January, 11am – 4pm

Civic Centre, Harlow, Essex CM20 1WG. Mailed-in entries cannot be accepted.
Judging: Week of 27 January
Unselected works collected from Friday 31 January and Saturday 1 February.
Private View: Tuesday 11 February, 6:30pm-8pm in the Gibberd Gallery. Prizes will be awarded at 7pm.
Public Exhibition Opens: Saturday 15 February 2024 11am-4pm Monday-Saturday.
Exhibition Ends: Saturday 19 April.
Collection of exhibited and unsold works: Friday 25 – Saturday 26 April 11am – 4pm.
