Ten Pin Bowling: The annual Steve Morton Memorial Trophy held in Harlow

THE annual Steve Morton Memorial trophy was competed by sixteen members of the Monday night tenpin bowling league earlier this month.

Steve was a prominent member of the tenpin bowling scene in Harlow for many years and as such other members of what was then the Breakaway Trios league decided back in 2018 that an annual tournament in his memory should be played during the first week of each New Year.
This year’s event was played on a doubles basis, each team playing three games with a handicap system used by most leagues. After two games, scores were not high but the final result was set to be close with four of the eight teams separated by just 30 pins.
Coming out on top were Roger Wilson, by now a seasoned bowler who was joined by Graham Rundall a relative new bowler who was delighted to win his first ever tenpin bowling tournament. The top four scores remained close at 1105, 1066, 1058 and 1057.

Well Done Graham and Roger.
