Local poet runs free poetry workshops in Harlow

NATIONAL Poetry Prize Winner, Imogen Wade, will be running free poetry workshops for adults and children between the 15th and 25th of February at locations around Harlow. Imogen grew up in Harlow and will be supporting locals to develop their writing skills or have a go for the first time.

The workshops are in support of the Harlow Poetry Open Competition – a joint initiative between Harlow Creates, Essex Libraries and Harlow Museum. The competition is open to everyone over 7 who lives, learns or works in Harlow. Whether new to writing or more experienced, all are encouraged to submit up to three poems each on the theme of Home. The deadline for submissions is the 3rd of March.

The competition is timed to coincide with World Poetry Day (21st March) with the celebration of winners taking place at Harlow Central Library on the 22nd of March.
