Planning application for children’s home in Glebelands submitted to Harlow Council

News / Sun 16th Mar 2025 at 03:40pm

AN application to convert a house into a children’s home has been submitted to Harlow Council’s planning committee.

The application is for a “Dwelling consisting of semi-assisted living and care to be provided to young people between the ages of 16-18.

It is based at 83 Glebelands.

As part of the application, BAPA Care Homes have made the following statement.

“We are pleased to submit our proposal for delivering high-quality supported accommodation services for 16-18 year olds at 83 Glebelands, Harlow.

Our organisation brings a wealth of experience in the residential care sector, supported by robust systems, a highly trained staff team and a strong operational infrastructure, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for young people in need.

Young people may need help for any number of reasons, whether they have suffered trauma, escaped violence, been separated from their family or preparing to leave other forms of care.

We embed a trauma-informed approach across all aspects of our operations to create an environment where young people feel safe, supported and empowered to achieve their full potential and tailor provision to the specific needs of each young person.

Additionally, this allows us to screen prospective residents to ensure that the home community is a well balanced and positive environment……………….

“We locate homes in residential areas with access to education, employment and community resources. This encourages a sense of community and belonging, ensuring that young people have the best opportunities to develop independence.

Our mission is to empower young people to achieve their full potential. We measure success through tangible outcomes, such as improved emotional wellbeing, re-engagement with education, and successful transitions to independent living.

“By combining our extensive experience, skilled workforce, robust systems, and quality infrastructure, we are confident in our ability to deliver exceptional supported accommodation services for 16–18-year-olds at this address. We look forward to the opportunity to partner with you in making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people”.
