HARLOW Council has issued a statement over Redstone House.
A spokesperson said: “We were shocked and appalled to see flats being advertised for rent.
The Fire Service have confirmed that the prohibition notice is still live, and our Private Sector housing team continues to monitor the situation closely as part of their work to improve the standards of private sector housing in our town and the living conditions for private tenants.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to private-sector landlords who do not provide safe accommodation.
“We continue to support Redstone House residents in priority need with alternative accommodation and have extended this provision as we assess each case in line with our housing duty and our allocations policy.
This support includes providing housing advice to anyone that we are unable to directly provide a permanent housing solution to.”
"We have a zero-tolerance approach to private-sector landlords who do not provide safe accommodation", sounds good, but what, if anything will the Council do?
They will be very angry Mark, and waggle their finger in disapproval. That'll learn the landlord.. That is why we have to rely on other services such as fire brigade to issue prohibition notices.

A good idea to leave red striped tape across the doors with prohibited entry notice
Its already advertised for private rent, called endeavour house. Well it was, but it's currently showing as removed. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/163362407#/?channel=RES_LET
It has been earmarked for the new town refit. If any one really cared about the residents this issue would have been sorted out already. Harlow is already a ghost town.No rich person in their right mind would not investigate the crime rate. They want to buy a home for themselves and their children in a safe place. Where i live the roads and pavements are in such a dangerous condition that it's laughable. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.x
I used to deliver to this place. I felt unsafe here. Dirty nappies and rubbish in the stairwells and the smell of cannabis was potent. Foul language by some of the residents. It was dirty and unclean. However, the top floor was very nice indeed. How disappointing for them to have to climb the stairs through all the filth. Shocking!
question here ; why are estate agents putting these flats on their sites when the fire service are not happy about them .
Isn't this building just a dumping ground for immigrates in the town. The building should be pulled down like Terminus House! Both were never designed to house people to begin with in the 1st place. Stop cutting corner and actually build affordable homes for Harlow residents!
Don't you realise this is the only quick way to get rehoused by the council, who take on a duty of care for anyone paying council tax.. nice one LONDON. NOT.
