Statement from Affinity Water

Your water will be back on

So we can get your water flowing again, we’re redirecting water across our network from other areas. This may be at a lower pressure whilst our repairs are ongoing.

What we’re doing

Our repair team has arrived on Southern Way and are now digging to expose the burst pipe. We should know how long this will take us to repair once we have exposed the pipe.

We’re really sorry and we’re working hard to get your water flowing again soon.

What you can do

Until we’ve sorted this, please avoid using your:

  • Washing machine
  • Dishwasher
  • Electrical appliances that use water

If you still have water, we recommend you put some in your kettle or fridge for drinking in case your water needs switching off for the repair.

We’re really sorry about this, we’re working to get your water back to normal as soon as possible.

We added this message at 10:05 and we’ll update it again after 14:05

Was an absolute nightmare on Parringdon Road next to the Southern Way turn off. Myself and my neighbours having to tell cars to turn around as they couldn't get through. No signs placed along our road to say the road was closed! For two hours my neighbours and myself stood outside telling cars to use the Harlow Common road or to tail back to Summers and Katherine's. Why were signs not placed and clear instructions giving? Honestly utter joke!

After digging up the road when and if they do, will they put the road back to road worthy or leave uneven roads and wholes like normal.

These so called water companies should respond quicker and do the repairs and not stand around just watching

I'm sure the water company is doing everything it can to fix this burst water main as quickly as possible as for the warning signs not being put up quickly that was because our man in the van was stuck in a traffic jam for some considerable time which we do apologise for and thank you to the local residents that helped out by informing drivers of the burst main emergency problem, the water company concerned stated that no extra charges for this emergency or indeed for any amount of water lost during the emergency or due to the clean up after the emergency or indeed our emergency workers overtime bill would be passed on to ANY of OUR CUSTOMERS honestly 😁😁😁😁
