Epping councillors vote unanimously to call on government to close Bell Hotel

EPPING Forest District councillors voted unanimously on a motion to call on the Government to immediately and permanently close the Bell Hotel in Epping for the purposes of asylum processing at a full council meeting on 24 July.
In a tense and emotional debate councillors spoke of their anger and upset at the recent events in Epping following the alleged assault of a schoolgirl in Epping.
The motion also called for the managed closure of the Phoenix Hotel in Bobbingworth.
Councillors from all parties thanked the police for their swift response and support to the demonstrations.
They thanked the peaceful protesters and condemned those that chose to attack the police.

Interestingly Councillor Holly Whitbread, and other Tory councillors from EFDC, defended the use of the hotel for immigration purposes when it was originally opened by the Tory Government.

NIMBY. If only we had a decent and speedy way to process (and remove those who failed to be granted asylum) instead of having to use so many hotels.. Not good for the gov purse or the claimants alike. The blame lies squarely with our governments for the last 20-odd years

It may help if we stopped initiating wars.Do you know that as a result of wars etc We are obliged to accept a certain amount of the devastated people as a result of the fallout. Hugs

Also, we are dumped on by the underground greedy money making machine that encourages this process. Often using some of these people to be forever in their debt.And using them in the most disgusting ways.Eg prostituting the women,slave labour.. Even the foreign parents if these victims are paid a bounty sometimes. I am not saying that this is always the case.There are alot people that are being allowed to enter the this country,that could quite easily be a national security risk as well. They slip through the net too. Pretty scary.
