Harlow Council set to invest in renewing playgrounds and asks residents for their views on which playgrounds first

HARLOW Council is investing in upgrading playgrounds across the town as part of its Building Harlow’s Future plan and its mission to ‘renew our neighbourhoods’.
The council is committed to making sure every child in Harlow has access to safe, modern, and fun spaces to play. To ensure this investment reflects the needs of local families, residents are now being asked to share their views on which playgrounds should be prioritised for upgrades first.

Councillor Nicky Purse, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Environment, said:
“Playgrounds are at the heart of our neighbourhoods – they’re where children make memories, families spend time together, and communities come to life. We’re renewing our neighbourhoods, and that means creating vibrant, welcoming spaces for every generation. By asking residents to help us decide which playgrounds to upgrade first, we can make sure this investment delivers real benefits where they are needed most.”
The upgrades will focus on making equipment safer, more inclusive, and more enjoyable, while also improving the look and feel of play areas so they can be enjoyed for years to come.
Residents can share their views on priorities for their local playgrounds by emailing [email protected].
This investment in play areas complements wider neighbourhood renewal projects, from tackling street clutter to improving landscaping, as part of the council’s six missions to Build Harlow’s Future.
Finally, some of them look so sad.
The one on potter street common is in a really sorry state.
Start with Potter street common park, that looks the pits.
How about refurbing some of the paths within local parks, some of the paths in Sumner's have never seen tarmac. Trees and bushes that overlap onto footpaths should also be cutback.
