THE leader of Harlow Labour has responded to the news that Redstone House apartments are being re-let.
Councillor James Griggs was very vocal when residents were required to leave after a prohibition notice was placed on the building by the fire service.

Cllr Griggs said: “A few months ago we saw the disgusting scenes of residents being evicted from Redstone House after the landlords allowed the building to fall into a dangerously unsafe condition.
That lack of investment and basic care caused disruption to many families who were forced to abandon their homes at short notice, leaving behind possessions they could not remove before being banned from entering. Many are still living in temporary accommodation as they seek a new place to call home.
The building has now been refurbished and the properties are advertised for rental at hugely inflated rates. They have renamed it Endeavour House, ironic when you consider they previously made no endeavour at all to look after it and keep their tenants safe.
“I would strongly urge anyone considering taking a tenancy to look at the behaviour of the landlords towards their previous tenants, if they didn’t care about them why would they care about you?”
Isn't that what unscrupulous landlords do when they want to increase the rent, chuck them out with a dodgy reason then refurb a little then vastly increase the rent, you can rent a 2 bed flat in a newly built block for the same price, why would you rent from that block
Up to £1500 a month for a two bedroom flat. Who can afford that?
Didn't a Labour MP do the exact same thing recently. Didn't hear from James Griggs then
Just double checked , it was Ms Ali the homelessness minister, you couldn't make it up. So wants your opinion Cllr Griggs
