TWO people have been arrested following a protest in Epping this evening, Tuesday 23 September.

A 48-year-old man from Harlow was arrested on suspicion of breaching his bail conditions, and a 17-year-old was arrested under Section 14 of the Public Order Act on suspicion of failing to abide by the restrictions placed upon this evening’s protest. 

They both remain in custody while our enquiries continue.

Chief Inspector Ella Lathan said: “The vast majority of those attending this evening did so within the restrictions in place to ensure all members of the community were protected and respected.

“Where those restrictions were not followed, we took the swift action we set out prior to the protest.”
