Essex SEND Local Offer roadshow to include new weekend events following parent feedback
Education / Thu 26th Feb 2026 at 08:43am
WEEKEND dates have been added to the next round of the Essex SEND Local Offer roadshow for the first time.
The roadshow is a series of in-person information events for parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

It happens three times a year, in spring, summer and autumn – one for every school term. There are usually four events to choose from.
However, for the first time, two new weekend dates have been added after parents and carers fed back that this would be more convenient for working parents.
During the events, attendees can speak with different SEND professionals under one roof. This includes representatives from local support groups, education professionals, health teams and social care teams.
Parents and carers can drop in to an event when it’s convenient for them, without booking and:
access support and information
find out about the different services available
find out about support available in schools
find out about local support, such as parent groups
meet other carers and parents
The next roadshow dates and locations are:

Councillor Tony Ball, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said: “We remain dedicated to listening to what families need when it comes to SEND information and support, and acting on what they tell us.
“We know from feedback that the Local Offer roadshows are valuable sources of information for parents and carers and so are pleased to offer new weekend dates so that even more families can benefit.
“If you’re not sure where to start in looking for SEND support, I’d encourage you to attend an event and speak to one of our friendly colleagues who will help you.”
Young people, parents and carers can also access SEND information, advice and guidance through the Essex Local Offer website: https://send.essex.gov.uk/
