ESSEX referees can continue their preparations for the 2026/27 season after match official re-registration opened online on Monday 1st June.

Individuals who opted into the auto-renewal process were automatically registered by The FA on 1st June, providing their safeguarding children qualifications were in-date, as this is a requirement of all referees. The ‘Safeguarding For All’ course can be completed online (and for free) via the Essex County FA website at www.essexfa.com.

For referees aged 14 and 15, parent/carer consent must be provided before they’re able to register for season 2026/27. Details on providing consent can also be found on the County FA’s website at www.essexfa.com/referees/refereeing-support/registration by downloading the ‘Providing Consent for Youth Referees’ guidance in the ‘Related Documents’ section.
