HARLOW Town’s promotion hopes were dealt a hammer blow as they lost 2-1 to what was almost the last kick of the game against Dereham Town.

Dereham, who have definite promotion hopes of their own, were 1-0 up after a Ryan Hawkins strike after five minutes.

It was not until stoppage time at the end of the game that Harlow equalised with a goal from Stanley Muguo.

However, Adam Smith scored the winner to break Hawks hearts.

Harlow Town travel to Tilbury on Tuesday night.
