SEVERAL Harlow Running Club members ran off the festive excesses by competing in various races between Christmas and the New Year. At the Harlow Parkrun 5K Jamie Jephcott was victorious, winning the event in an excellent 19min 43sec from 55 finishers. He was followed home by son Daniel, 6th and 1st U20 in 20min 36sec. Also running were Sean Flynn 16th in 23min 55sec, Spencer Brooks 21st in 25min 29sec, Justin Patten 30th in 27min 42sec, Terry Pike 32nd in 28min 39sec and Pushpa Mistry 42nd in 31min 20sec.

Meanwhile at the Basingstoke Parkrun 5K Richard Solomons finished in 33rd place out of 267 finishers and 1st Vet 60 in a superb 21min 44sec.

At the Bangor Parkrun 5K in Northern Ireland Andy Kinney finished in 79th place out of 192 finishers in 25min 08sec.

At the Tonbridge Parkrun 5K in Kent Alan Wellbelove finished in 98th place out of 165 finishers in a personal best time for the distance of 28min 13sec.

At a very hilly Buntingford 10 Mile race Martin McColgan finished in 239th place out of 470 finishers in 1hr 23min 47sec.

At the Boxing Day 5 Mile race at Witham Robin Lozeau finished in 174th place out of 376 finishers in 38min 44sec. He was followed by Debbie Barry 226th in 41min 48sec and Vicky Calver, after overdoing the Christmas spirit, 376th and last place in 70min 04sec.
