THE Ukip candidate for the Mark Hall ward is determined to retain the ward for the up and coming party. The seat was left vacant due to the Ukip councillor, Jerry Crawford standing down due to ill health.

Mr Gough, who was formerly a Conservative councillor some time ago, believes the momentum is with Ukip after an impressive showing last May.

YH caught up with Mr Gough at the opening of the Ukip office in Staple Tye.
