A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “We received a 999 call to Market Street at 4.38pm yesterday to reports of a patient who had collapsed and was unconscious.

“We sent an ambulance, which was on scene in four minutes, an ambulance officer, a community first responder and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

“The patient, a male in his 60s, was treated at scene before being taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition by land ambulance.
