Harlow Town 0 v 0 Haringey Borough
By Matt Biggadike
IT was a frustrating night for Harlow Town as they missed countless chances in a goal-less draw against Haringey Borough at the Harlow Arena.
To be fair to Haringey, the came with a plan and executed very well.. Never giving an inch and full of commitment.
Harlow really should opened the scoring in the first minute when Shane Stamp found space in the area and shot.
The keeper parried it away into the path of Junior Dadson but all he could do was bundle it back to the Haringey keeper.
Harlow’s biggest handicap early on was their own keeper, Niklas Freund, who made two dreadful errors to put his team in trouble.
Junior Dadson forced a Haringey defender to head over the bar for a corner as Harlow looked for their first goal.
Haringey keeper Ashley Harris pulled off another great save in the 19th minute when Shame Stamp crossed and Alex Read side footed it goal-ward.
Harlow continued to have more and more of the game but didn’t really carve out a clear chance although a tremendous shot by Ibrahmina Sonko flashed across the goal.
All the flair from Harlow was coming down the left as Layne Eadie made a number of marauding runs linking up with Shane Stamp.
Many of the fans feel that Harlow were over-complicating things.
The second half began with Junior Dadson again applying the pressure with a lovely move to the by-line but his cross swept across the area.
But the crowd were getting very restless as they wanted to see the first goal go in. The game became very frantic and not that dynamic.
But hats off to the Haringey defence who were resolute. A last ditch tackle by Cedric Lakole being a case in point.
Another great opportunity came in the 75th minute when Junior Dadson again go the ball across but Alex Read’s outstretched foot could only put it inches past the post.
Haringey looked like they could score especially with sprightly sub Ashley Taylor-Forbes.
But Harlow Town just could not score and the game ended in a draw.
