FOLLOWING on from last weekends excellent victory in Southern Championships 17 year old Canaan Solomon has been selected to represent the Senior Team of England in an International meeting next Sunday in Bratislavia.Canaan,the number ranked 800 metre runner in UK will fly out Saturday then will compete over 1500 metres indoors

I am delighted for Canaan for this selection as it will give him greater confidence throughout his athletics career

Inspired by Canaan Sidnie Ward 13 Burnt Mill has been selected for his first All England Schools Cross Country Champs at Woollaton Park,Nottingham on 5th March after securing a fine 3rd place in Essex Schools Cross Country event at Colchester last Saturday.Sidnie was just 10 seconds behind Leon Wheeler who set a new course record of 15 mins 49 for the 4.4k course.Behind Sidnie was Hayden Maleary 14 Burnt Mill in 12th spot which has secured an Essex Schools selection for South East Of England Schools Inter Counties to be held 6th February Bexhill,Kai Boggon Passmores only 12 was 34th and Siena Taylor13 Burnt Mill was 27th in Junior Girls race.

10 year old Maxwell Chinn travelled to Cardiff to compete in the UK Cross Challenge Under 11s race over 1,750 metres Maxwell had another excellent run for 4th in 7 mins 16 just 20 seconds behind the winner. 9 year old Sid Cody(Fawbert and Barnard) was 41st in 8 mins 34 from a large field

At Lee Valley in the London Indoor Games 14 year old Kyesha Robinson Burnt Mill won her Under 17 Women’s race in 42.14 a new PB ,this time ranks Kyesha in 15th in Uk.Kyesha also won over 60 metres in 8.23

In the latest Harlow Parkrun 5k Liam Waldron Burnt Mill only 12 won the race in 20 minutes flat a new PB for that course
