THE children at Kiddi Caru in Harlow celebrated Australia Day last week with a fancy dress beach party.

Dressed in red, white and blue, the children created a beach in one of their playrooms and also made Australian flags. The pre-school children even made their own pretend barbecues, so they could all have a ‘barbie’ on the beach.

Vania Farinha, Nursery Manager, explained: “We were very lucky because one of our families is from Australia, so they brought in some Australian books for the children to look at. They all loved learning about this amazing country and especially its wildlife – the Kiddi Caru mascot is Roo the kangaroo and the children were amazed by the idea that in Australia there are real kangaroos hopping around!”
