ESSEX Libraries are running a Sensory Story Time at branches across the county. The story time which is aimed at children of all abilities is led by volunteers trained by the Mid Essex Preschool SEN/AEN (Special Educational Needs/Additional Educational Needs) Specialist Teacher team.
The session will be interactive giving children the chance to experience some favourite stories through a range of sensory experiences. The story time is free and is part of Essex Libraries’ Summer Reading Challenge programme.
Councillor John Jowers, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Libraries, Communities and Planning, said: “Every child enjoys listening to stories. These story times offer children the chance to enjoy the story through all their senses, allowing them to have a rich and memorable experience. They are accessible to all children regardless of ability.”
