Update: Man arrested by armed police in Broad Walk

A 25-year-old man has been bailed following an incident yesterday (see below).
He has been bailed until October 7th.
An Essex Police spokesperson said that there have not been any other arrests in relation to the incident.
A HARLOW man is in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm in public.
Police were alerted at just after 2pm today (Thursday), when a member of the public reported seeing a “Man walking around the town centre with a firearm.”
Armed police monitored the man, observed him on CCTV and located him in the Broad Walk area.
The man was stopped and searched just outside MacDonalds but no weapon was found.
The area is continuing to be searched for a weapon.
A 25-year-old Harlow man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm in a public place.
He remains in custody at Harlow Police Station.
