STUDENTS from Years 7, 8 and 9 at Burnt Mill Academy, will see their work published in A Twist In The Tale – Essex after putting together 100-word stories with a twist in the storyline.

Saoirse Faughnan, English teacher, said: “We had a huge amount of students who had their work selected to appear in the book. They had to get their literacy perfect to be considered.

‘I am so proud of all 50 students; this is such an amazing achievement. They were so excited and said they were going to run home to tell their families. The orders are already coming in from them for their copies of the book. Their efforts have really paid off and they will have the book as a lasting reminder of their achievement.’

The book, due to be published in December, will be available in the British Library and across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
