STEWARDS Academy has excelled itself in recent weeks with the money it has raised for charity. Over £1000 was raised for Children in Need by having a non-uniform day and staff dressing as fictional book characters. Poppies were sold around school for Remembrance Day as usual.
£940 has been raised from a variety of events to support 3 young girls with their education in Pakistan, in memory of Hira Shakoor who died in a house fire in 2012.
This week has seen year seven raise hundreds of pounds for a variety of good causes in their annual Enterprise week’s activities.
Assistant head-
teacher Marie Erwood said ‘It never ceases to amaze me how generous our pupils and staff are when they raise money for good causes. Young people today have a huge depth of generosity and they give selflessly when they understand the cause they are supporting.’
