HARLOW Town stretched their unbeaten run to eight games with a 3-2 win over Erith & Belvedere. Goals from Antoine, Smith and Read give Harlow all 3 points.
Harlow started well and got the first chance of the game as good hold up play by Alex Read allowed the space for James Smith to shoot but his shot went just wide.
However it was Erith & Belvedere who took the lead on 8 minutes. Ryan Flack cut in from the left took on Robbie Martin and his shot found its way into the near corner past Behcet and put them 1-0 up. They nearly doubled their lead when Matatas shot just went over.
However Erith didn’t create any sort of threat after this and Harlow started to pick up the game. Read nearly levelled when he went through on goal but was denied by keeper Bourne. It was all Harlow at this point.
Harlow did equalise. A mix up from the keeper and centre back gave Leon Antoine an open goal and he buried the ball in the back of the net to make it 1-1 on 22 minutes.
5 minutes later Harlow took the lead. Erith failed to clear the ball on numerous occasions and they were punished. The ball fell to James Smith and he slotted into the back of the net to make it 2-1 to the hawks.
Harlow were only looking like they were going to score and kept on attacking looking for a vital third goal. Chances from Read, Stamp and Smith nearly added to the Harlow total.
Both teams came out looking sharp and Harlow knew they were in for a tough second half.
Harlow nearly got that third goal through Danny Brown whose header crashed against the bar from a Robbie Martin Corner.
But Erith and Belvedere were level. Thomas broke the offside trap and then rounded goalkeeper Behcet and then slotted into an empty net to make it 2-2.
There were many half chances for Harlow to grab a winner but there were struggling to test the Erith keeper.
That was until Harlow got the winner on 79 minutes. Another Cross from Martin found an unmarked Alex Read who headed home to give Harlow all 3 points.
