Excitement for Winter Games at Harlow LeisureZone

THE ESSEX WINTER Games are coming to Harlow.

The event at Harlow Leisure Zone will see one thousand young people from Essex compete across a range of sports including Badminton, Indoor Rowing, Table Cricket, Basketball and Table Tennis.

THE festival will be opened by Rio 2016 hopeful, Wheelchair racer, Richard Chissarro from Harlow who is funded by the Active Essex, Essex County Council Inspired Athletes Awards at Gold level and Vic Goddard, Principle at Passmores Academy, Harlow who starred in the Channel 4 TV series Educating Essex in 2012.

The opening ceremony will also feature dance performances from Pear Tree Mead and Abbotsweld Primary Schools and Burnt Mills Academy from Harlow.

The Essex School Games is now in its third year, and continues to build on the success of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, by ensuring a Legacy and giving the next generation of young people in Essex the opportunity to compete against one another in a competitive but fun environment.

Over the past two years the School Games has already seen 12,000 Essex youngsters discover and take part in new sports.
