Council hatch a plan for The Hummingbird

hummHARLOW Council recommended plans to regenerate the area surrounding the Hummingbird pub at a meeting of the Labour cabinet on Thursday night.

The recommendations came as part of a plan to also improve Slacksbury Hatch, Katherines Hatch and the Bushey Croft garages sites.

The plans may see the development of a mix of retail units and new homes for rent and sale.

Many residents will be interested in the plans proposed for the Hummingbird public house. The council owns the freehold of the public house but the council admitted that it is “In need of significant repair and is hard to let.

Again, the outline plans propose a possible improvement to retail facilities at Elm Hatch and possible development of new homes which would be owned by the council.
