Waltham Abbey 1 v 3 Harlow Town

HARLOW Town go into their massive game on Saturday against league leaders VCD Athletic in fine form after a 3-0 victory away at Waltham Abbey.

The Hawks now sit in third place on 73 points. They are eight points off the top, but will keep fighting in all of the eight games they have left.

What is good news for Harlow is that Alex Read and Junior Dadson are continuing to bang in the goals. Harlow Town simply look like a team that you would like to avoid in a play-off.

Goals from Junior Dadson (7), Alex Read (37) and James Smith (45) made it 3-0 at half time and Harlow never looked back. They were able to remain on cruise control through the second half although Abbey pulled a consolation penalty through Joe Pearman in the 84th minute.

Alex Read’s strike was his 41st and he is now just three behind Jeff Wood’s post war record of 44 set in 1989-90.
