FOLLOWING the fire at a Council flat in Herons Wood on Saturday 5 April 2014, which affected two Council properties, Harlow Council has issued the following statement.

A Harlow Council spokesperson said: “A Housing Officer has attended the affected properties on Monday 7 April 2014 but was unable to gain access as the area is still cordoned off by Essex Police. The tenants affected have been moved into temporary accommodation and the Essex Police and Fire services are undertaking their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fire.

“The Council is doing all it can to offer support to the tenants affected by this fire and, once investigations are completed, the Council can assess the properties to determine what will need to be done in terms of repairs and whether the tenants will need to be rehoused.”
