Gypsy-Traveller rep to join police boss at residents meeting in Harlow

THE Police and Crime Commissioner will host his next public meeting to discuss local crime and community safety issues in Harlow.

YH understands that he will be joined by a representative of the Gypsy-Traveller community.

The meeting will take place at the Latton Bush Centre on Wednesday September 17.

Time: 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday September 17.

Location: Griffin Suite, Latton Bush Centre, Southern Way, Harlow, CM18 7BL.

A public briefing document, containing information about the new policing model in the Harlow district, latest reported crime figures for the area and crime trends will be published shortly before the meeting and will also be available at the public meeting.

Nick Alston, Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said: “I encourage everyone who lives in Harlow to come along to the meeting and raise the issues that matter to them around crime and policing. We’ll also be discussing what the new local policing plans recently announced by the Chief Constable will mean for the town.

As well as the PCC, the Essex Police district commander for Harlow Chief Insp Alan Ray, and representatives from the Community Safety Partnership will also be in attendance. They will help the PCC explore the facts around crime trends and give briefings on what actions are being taken by local officers. The PCC will ask questions of both police and the council and talk about work being done in the area to drive down crime and improve safety.
