Man charged with firearm offences after Staple Tye incident

A MAN has been charged with two firearms offences following an incident at Harlow.

Police were called to Staple Tye shopping centre shortly before 6.50pm on Tuesday November 11 following reports that a man had produced a firearm while arguing with another man.

Following subsequent enquiries a man was arrested in the town on Wednesday.

Robert Somerville, 22, of Charters Cross, Harlow, was charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possessing an imitative firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He was detained in police custody to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today, Friday November 14.
